The Academy will sponsor a Virtual Hill Day on Tuesday, September 28, to connect audiologists with their elected members of Congress to elicit additional support for the Medicare Audiologist Access and Services Act (H.R. 1587/S. 1731), and other selected issues.
This focused activity to meet strategic priorities will include Academy leaders, members of the Advocacy Council, and other targeted invitees within the membership. The Academy voice will be heard on both sides of Congress—House and Senate—to emphasize the importance of the bill and inclusion of its provisions in any legislation that seeks to expand Medicare with the hearing benefit.
Advocates will also highlight other legislative priorities for audiologists, including The Allied Health Workforce Diversity Act, Ally’s Act, and legislative efforts to reduce cuts in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS).
